What yacht charter are you looking for?

Italy Yacht Charter

A yacht charter in Italy is one of the most luxurious ways to explore the Mediterranean—especially if you’re after world-famous coastlines, high-end marinas, and top-tier service. Italy is a major hub for superyacht charters, with key bases in Naples, Portofino, Sanremo, and Venice, and home to many of the best crews and most exclusive yachts in the world.

We recommend motor yachts for this region—they offer the speed and range you need to explore multiple highlights like the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Sardinia, and even over to Corsica within a 7–10 day itinerary. This is what most of our high-end clients choose when they want flexibility and full comfort.

From anchoring off Positano to docking at Porto Cervo, or pulling up in Venice for a night at one of Italy’s iconic restaurants, an Italy yacht charter gives you access to the best of Italian glamour, with none of the crowds.

Types of Yacht Charters in Italy

You’ll find all yacht types available in Italy—motor yachts, catamarans, and sailing yachts—but if you want to make the most of your time, we strongly recommend a motor yacht. Italy’s coastline is vast, and with the top destinations spread out, having a yacht with good cruising speed means you can easily visit Amalfi, Capri, Portofino, Sardinia, and even Corsica in a single charter.

Most of our clients choose motor yachts not just for the speed, but for the full experience—jacuzzis, sun decks, water toys, private chefs, and top-tier crews. It’s the most comfortable and efficient way to explore Italy in style.

Italy Yacht Charter Highlights

We don’t pick highlights from travel blogs — we look at what truly stands out from the helm. These are places where a yacht makes all the difference: protected anchorages in national parks, sailing into historic ports, and islands you can’t reach any other way.

âš² Amalfi Coast

Explore the Iconic Faraglioni Rocks & Blue Cave at Capri

Capri is one of the top yacht destinations in Italy. Anchor beneath the cliffs, swim the Blue Grotto, then take the funicular into town.

âš² Sardinia

Island Hop Through the Remote La Maddalena Archipelago

Crystal-clear water, wild beaches, and no crowds. Drop anchor and swim, snorkel, or just stay the night in one of the most beautiful bays in Italy.

âš² Sicily

Watch the Eruption of Stromboli Volcano from Your Cockpit

Watch the volcano erupt from your cockpit. Hike to the crater if you’re up for it, or sail the lava-lit coastline at night. Nowhere else like it.

Our Top Recommended Yacht Charters in Italy

How do we select our recommended Greek yachts? We attend several annual yacht shows in the Mediterranean and beyond, such as MYBA in Sanremo and MEDYS in Nafplion. At these shows, we tour hundreds of yachts and meet the crew. This is also when we make our walk-through videos of our favorite yachts, allowing our clients to get a proper look onboard before booking.

  • Superyachts: €100,000–€500,000+/week
  • Sailing yachts & catamarans: from €25,000/week with lower fuel costs and APA.

  • Crew tips: 10–15% based on service.

Not sure what fits your budget? Tell us what you’re looking for — we’ll send hand-picked options, cost breakdown included.

When is the best time for a yacht charter in Italy?

Late April to early October is the main season.

Peak season: May to September – hot, dry, best for swimming and nightlife.

Shoulder season: April–May, September–October — quieter, better value.

Pro tip: Want fewer crowds? Go shoulder season. Want full-on summer energy? July/August is your window.

When should I book my Italy yacht charter?

12 months ahead is ideal, especially for June–August.

Top yachts get booked a year or more in advance.

Booking late (under 6 months)? We’ll still find you a yacht – just expect fewer options or flexibility needed in ports.

Some clients now book 2 years ahead for popular weeks.

Can I charter a yacht from France to Sardinia?

Yes, with the right yacht (usually a fast motor yacht).

We’ve arranged many France-Italy charters.

Bonus: If you start in France and end in Italy, we can often use an ECPY contract, which saves you VAT and fuel taxes. That can be a big cost saver. Ask us how it works.

The planning of the DMA team directed by Chris de Kock was excellent. The boat matched our needs and the captain and crew were excellent as noted by Chris based on other experiences. A grate trip and utilizing them in the future will be our step and recommend to others.

We booked through Nadja who was so helpful from the beginning! She found a perfect match for not only the boat but also the crew. Everything was very easy. We had the most fantastic and memorable week on the boat and would recommend Nadia’s services again in the future.
