A crewed motor yacht is the default choice in Italy, and for good reason. This coast is a string of towns you actually want to arrive at: Positano, Capri, Porto Cervo, Portofino. A motor yacht gets you there quickly, berths in the middle of them, and keeps everyone comfortable on the way.
The Italian fleet is deep at every size, from 24m boats that suit a family week on the Amalfi Coast to 40m-plus yachts with full crew, tenders, and a garage of toys.

The mistake we correct most often is a first-time client picking the wrong yacht type for a marina-heavy route, then losing days to it. Italy is a port-to-port country: Amalfi and the Costa Smeralda are about arriving somewhere new, tying up in town, and going ashore for dinner. That is what a motor yacht is built for, and we would rather have that conversation before you book than after.

The Amalfi Coast is the classic week: Naples, Capri, Positano, and Ischia within short hops, with a berth in town most nights. Sardinia is the summer scene, running the Costa Smeralda and La Maddalena and often across to Corsica. Sicily and the Aeolian Islands stay quieter, with volcanic anchorages and far fewer boats.
Because Italian itineraries are port-to-port. Amalfi, Capri, and the Costa Smeralda involve short hops and marina nights rather than long passages, and a motor yacht handles that with speed, stabilizers, and volume.
