An Azimut yacht charter in Italy costs about €47,000 a week in high season for the typical yacht, plus expenses and VAT. Across the 67 Azimuts in our catalogue that cruise Italy, half fall between €36,000 and €70,000 a week.
That buys a 70 to 99 foot motor yacht for eight guests with a crew of three. The five we have profiled on this page run €31,000 to €48,000.
Azimut is the most common Italian yard in our catalogue, and its 70 to 90 footers are the workhorses of the Amalfi Coast and Sicily. They are fast, easy to run with a small crew, and most charter from Naples or Sicily itself.
Who builds Azimut yachts, and what do the model lines mean?
Azimut was founded by Paolo Vitelli in 1969 and today forms the Azimut Benetti Group with Benetti. It builds at Avigliana near Turin, Savona, Fano and Viareggio.
Across the 416 Azimut motor yachts on our books, the typical yacht takes eight guests in four cabins. The model name tells you what kind of Azimut you are getting:
- Flybridge: the family cruisers, with a second deck on top for the helm, sunbathing and lunch.
- S: the sport line, lower and faster. ALE II is an S7 that tops 35 knots.
- Grande: the larger yachts, from about 26 metres, with more volume and a bigger crew.
How much does an Azimut cost to charter in Italy per week?

Not every yacht in our catalogue is on this site. If you want a size you do not see here, ask and we quote it.
The rate is for the yacht and crew only. Add about 30% for the Advance Provisioning Allowance, which pays for fuel, food, drinks and berths, and 22% Italian VAT on the charter fee.
A €47,000 week therefore budgets at about €71,500 before gratuity. Our Italy yacht charter cost guide walks through every line, and the Italian charter VAT page explains what the 22% applies to.

Which Azimut is the newest, and which is the fastest?
ALE II is a 2024 Azimut S7 based at Marina di Stabia, at €43,000 to €48,000 a week. She tops 35 knots, has stabilisers at anchor and under way, and carries a jet ski and two Seabobs for eight guests.
SBK is a 2024 Azimut 68 based at Riposto on the east coast of Sicily, at €39,000 to €44,000 a week. She also has stabilisers at anchor and under way, and two Seabobs, which makes her the natural Azimut for Taormina and the Aeolian Islands.
ARAGREV 4 is the newest of all, a 2026 Azimut 69 based in Naples at €34,000 to €39,000 a week. She cruises at 24 knots and has stabilisers at anchor.
Which Azimut suits a family of nine?
FOREVER ROSANNA takes a ninth guest in four cabins, refitted in 2025 and based at Castellammare di Stabia at €29,500 to €33,000 a week. She carries a 300 hp jet ski on request, two Seabobs, one sized for children, and an inflatable platform.
MINERVA is the lowest-priced of the five, an 81 foot Azimut from 2004 refitted in 2022, at €26,000 to €31,000 a week for eight guests.
Where does an Azimut charter in Italy start?
Four of the five are based on the Bay of Naples:
- Bay of Naples: ALE II, ARAGREV 4, FOREVER ROSANNA and MINERVA are based between Naples and Castellammare, a short run from Capri, Positano and Amalfi.
- Sicily: SBK is based at Riposto, for Taormina, the Aeolian Islands and the east coast.
A yacht of this size covers the Amalfi Coast comfortably in a week, and our seven-day Amalfi itinerary from Naples is built for exactly this boat. For Sicily, see the eight-day Sicily and Aeolian Islands route.
What is included in an Azimut charter rate, and what is extra?
Every yacht on this page charters on plus-expenses terms:
- Included: the yacht, her crew of two to four, insurance and the water toys she carries.
- APA, about 30%: fuel, food, drinks and marina berths, paid up front and accounted for by the captain. Whatever you do not spend comes back to you.
- VAT, 22%: charged on the charter fee for a week that starts in Italy. It is not charged on the APA.
- Gratuity: at your discretion. In the Mediterranean it usually falls between 5 and 15% of the charter fee.
Fuel is the line that moves most on a fast planing yacht. Our page on how the APA works in Italy shows how cruising speed changes the bill, and the one on marina versus anchor nights covers berths in Capri.
When should you book an Azimut for Italy?
For July and August, book four to six months ahead. There are more Azimuts in our catalogue than any other Italian yard, so a week either side of your first choice usually turns up an alternative.
June and September list lower and are quieter on the Amalfi Coast. Our guide to the best time for an Italy yacht charter compares the months region by region.
Is an Azimut the right yacht, or should you look at another Italian yard?
Choose an Azimut for a modern 70 to 90 foot motor yacht with a small crew and a fair price. For the same size with a different finish, see our Ferretti, Pershing and Mangusta guides.
For a larger yacht with more crew, our Sanlorenzo and Benetti guides go up from 80 and 120 feet. Every motor yacht we list for Italy is on our Italy motor yacht charter page.
To compare all ten Italian yards side by side, see our Italian yacht builders compared page. For a head-to-head, see Azimut vs Ferretti.
