Our go-to 7-day Amalfi Coast yacht itinerary – 96 NM total, built for motor yachts.

Short legs, big impact. This route hits iconic spots like Capri, Positano, and Amalfi, but also introduces you to under-the-radar gems like Procida, Nerano, and Furore. Perfect for May or June, when the sea is calm, the weather’s spot on.

We recommend it for guests who want a balance of culture, swimming, and exceptional food stops, and access to the coast’s best anchorages – without wasting time.

Highlights:

  • Cruise the Amalfi Coast’s best route from Naples to Sorrento via Capri, Positano, and Amalfi
  • Anchor off iconic spots like the Faraglioni rocks, Fiordo di Furore, and Marina Corricella
  • Swim in crystal-clear bays at Nerano, Procida, and Capri’s south shore
  • Dine at top coastal restaurants like La Sponda, Da Paolino, Lo Scoglio, and Eolo
  • Explore on foot: Amalfi’s cathedral, Capri’s gardens, and Sorrento’s historic lanes

Day 1 – Naples to Procida

We recommend starting your charter in Naples with a short 11 NM cruise to Procida – a raw, colorful island that still feels like real Italy. Often overlooked in favor of Capri or Ischia, Procida offers a lived-in charm and a cinematic backdrop (it starred in The Talented Mr. Ripley and Il Postino).

Its name, meaning “soft beaches,” gives away one of its biggest draws – from the wide, calm waters of Spiaggia della Chiaiolella to the child-friendly shallows and postcard views at Spiaggia di Chiaia.

  • Anchor off Spiaggia della Chiaiolella for swimming in calm waters
  • Tender to Spiaggia di Chiaia for views of Corricella village
  • Dine at La Lampara – for sea urchin pasta and harbor views

Day 2 – Procida to Ischia

A quick morning cruise brings you to Ischia, the largest of the Phlegraean Islands and home to over 300 thermal springs. With lush volcanic slopes and terraced vineyards, this is the wellness stop of the trip.

Anchor near Sant’Angelo – a stylish pedestrian-only fishing village perfect for lunch or a shore walk.

  • Visit Poseidon Thermal Gardens
  • Explore Mount Epomeo trails
  • Wine tasting at Crateca Winery

Day 3 – Ischia to Capri

After a relaxed morning in Ischia, cruise to Capri – one of the most sought-after yacht destinations in the Mediterranean. The approach alone is worth it: sheer cliffs, the Faraglioni rocks, and cobalt-blue water set the scene.

We recommend anchoring off Marina Piccola and taking the tender ashore. From there, it’s a short ride to the Gardens of Augustus for panoramic views of Via Krupp and the Faraglioni. You can shop in Capri town or take a quieter walk up to Villa San Michele in Anacapri.

  • Anchor off Marina Piccola and swim beneath the Faraglioni
  • Visit the Grotta Azzurra or walk the Gardens of Augustus
  • Dinner at Da Paolino, under a canopy of lemon trees

Day 4 – Capri to Nerano

After the buzz of Capri, Nerano brings a slower pace. This small fishing village sits in a quiet bay on the Sorrentine Peninsula – perfect for a relaxed afternoon at anchor. The water is clear and the setting is peaceful, with cliffs and olive groves rising behind you.

Nerano is all about the food. It’s the birthplace of spaghetti alla Nerano, and waterfront spots like Lo Scoglio or La Conca del Sogno deliver the real deal. Tender ashore for a long lunch, or dine onboard with the same local ingredients.

  • Anchor in Marina del Cantone for swimming and snorkeling
  • Lunch at Lo Scoglio or La Conca del Sogno
  • Quiet anchorage with views of the rugged coastline

Day 5 – Nerano to Fiordo di Furore, then to Positano

Start your day with a morning cruise to Fiordo di Furore. This narrow inlet is a rare fjord in the Mediterranean, framed by a dramatic bridge and steep cliffs. Drop anchor just outside and tender in for a swim beneath the bridge or a walk into the small fishing village.

Later, cruise onward to Positano. This is the town you know from the postcard – vibrant, vertical, and full of energy. Tender ashore to explore its narrow streets, designer shops, or relax at a beach club. The evening is best spent at Franco’s Bar with a cocktail in hand, followed by dinner at La Sponda.

  • Swim beneath the bridge at Fiordo di Furore
  • Explore Positano’s boutiques and beach clubs
  • Sunset aperitivo and Michelin-starred dinner

Day 6 – Positano to Amalfi

Cruise the scenic stretch to Amalfi, one of the coast’s historic gems – it was once a maritime superpower. The approach is striking, with the town rising straight from the sea into steep hills. Moor or anchor just off the harbor and tender ashore into the heart of town.

Amalfi is easy to walk and there is a lot to explore. The cathedral dominates the square, but it’s the backstreets that really draw you in – with old paper mills, local ceramic shops, and tucked-away trattorias. It’s a good stop to slow down and explore on foot.

  • Sail straight into Amalfi’s dramatic harbor
  • Visit the cathedral and wander the alleyways
  • Dinner at Eolo for a high-end meal with a sea view

Day 7 – Amalfi to Sorrento

Your final full day takes you to Sorrento – a cliffside town with a reputation. It’s been pulling in travelers for centuries, thanks to its amazing views, lively energy, and yes, that song “Torna a Surriento” made famous by Elvis and Dean Martin. You’ll see why as you approach from the water, with Vesuvius in the distance and lemon trees climbing the hills.

Sorrento is a strong finish. Wander its tight lanes packed with shops, bars, and old-school cafés, or just soak up the buzz in Piazza Tasso. For your last night, Terrazza Bosquet nails the brief – Michelin-starred, sunset views, and a proper send-off to the week.

  • Approach the bay with full views of Vesuvius and the cliffs
  • Explore Sorrento’s old town and try small-batch limoncello
  • Final dinner at Terrazza Bosquet, one of the coast’s best

Day 8 – Sorrento to Naples

Your final cruise takes you back into Naples, with Vesuvius in view and a deeper sense of Italy’s layers. From here, it’s an easy hop to the airport – or extend with a private tour to Pompeii, Herculaneum, or the underground catacombs.

  • Tour the tunnels, catacombs, and Roman ruins beneath the streets
  • Eat pizza where it all began at Sorbillo or Da Michele
  • Visit the Archaeological Museum, home to treasures from Pompeii and Herculaneum
