SEAWOLF X Review: Italy’s Smartest 43m Superyacht Is a Catamaran That Barely Burns Fuel

by Klara Braga Jakobsen, Yacht Reviewer at DMA Yachting

I walked SEAWOLF X at the MYBA Charter Show in Sanremo in 2026 with John from our team, and went back aboard that evening for her party. The photos are mine, from both.

SEAWOLF X was the yacht every broker at Sanremo was talking about, and the one our clients came back from in July with a ten out of ten. She is a 43-metre Rossinavi hybrid catamaran that runs silent at anchor for 16 hours on batteries and sun, burns about 60 litres an hour on passage, hides a lounge and jacuzzi under a bow that lifts open, and turns her pool into a cinema after dark. Inside she feels like a Scandinavian retreat, not a yacht. Twelve guests in five cabins, nine crew, and a licence to take 120 people aboard at anchor for one night of the week. This review is about what each of those gives a charter, and the two things she is not.

Louis from our team walks SEAWOLF X with her captain at Sanremo.

SEAWOLF X in numbers

  • Length and beam: 42.8 m (140 ft), beam 13.6 m, draft 1.5 m. Rossinavi, 2024. Exterior by Fulvio De Simoni, interior by Meyer Davis.
  • Guests: 12 in 5 cabins: a full-beam master, two doubles, and two cabins that convert between double and twin, each with its own bathroom.
  • Crew: 9.
  • Speed: 10 knots cruising, 12 knots maximum, on electric drive. About 60 litres an hour on passage.
  • Power: lithium battery banks, solar panels across the superstructure, generators that run about two hours a day. Around 16 hours of silence at anchor.
  • Rate: 280,000 to 295,000 EUR per week plus expenses, with an APA that lands around 20% because of the fuel. With 12 aboard that is about 23,000 to 24,500 EUR per person for the week before expenses.
  • Water: a bow jacuzzi under the lifting deck, a pool that becomes a cinema, a sauna and gym, dive kit. Toys: a 15 m SACS Strider chase boat, two jet skis, two Seabobs, two e-foils, paddleboards, kayaks.
  • Cruising: Mediterranean in 2026. She leaves for the Pacific in 2027.

Silent nights: 16 hours at anchor without an engine running

This is the thing to understand first, because it changes the week more than any room. Her propulsion is electric. The lithium batteries, topped up by solar panels you cannot see from the dock, run the whole boat at anchor, air conditioning included, for about 16 hours. Then a generator runs for around two hours and she is good for another 16. No vibration through the hull at three in the morning, no diesel hum under dinner. On passage she burns about 60 litres an hour, which her captain called crazy on our video; a conventional 43-metre burns that at idle. The APA follows the fuel, and on her it comes in around 20% instead of the 30 to 35% a yacht this size usually asks.

The bow that lifts, and the pool that becomes a cinema

Her foredeck is flat and dark when she is underway. At anchor the whole panel rises on hydraulic arms and underneath is a sunken lounge with sofas round a jacuzzi, open to the sea on three sides. It is the best-hidden space I have seen on a yacht this size and the one every guest at the party gravitated to. Aft of the saloon is a pool, and at night a screen drops across it and the deck becomes an open-air cinema. Two outdoor rooms that do not exist on the dock plan.

Inside: a Scandinavian retreat on a 13.6-metre beam

Meyer Davis in New York did the interior and it is the calmest I have walked at a show: pale oak floors, cream linen sofas, slatted wood walls, backlit ceiling panels, a palette the designers call sun, sea and sand. The saloon and dining room run to about 100 square metres on one level because the beam is 13.6 metres, and the glass runs the full length of both sides. There is no gloss anywhere. When we came aboard the welcome table was dressed with wildflowers and a tray of the chef’s bites, and the coffee came on a stone tray. It is the kind of boat you lower your voice on.

The cabins: a master across the whole beam, and a gym beside it

The master runs the full 13.6 metres, with a skylight over the bed, a bathroom in pale stone with a window at the basin, and its own gym with a bike and a rig for suspension training. The two doubles and the two convertible cabins are on the lower deck in the hulls, each with its own bathroom; the twins are proper beds, not bunks. Twelve guests sleep in five cabins, which means twelve adults will put two couples in twins; for two or three couples and their friends she is generous.

The party: 120 guests at anchor, a mile from shore

Most yachts can host more than twelve people only alongside a dock. SEAWOLF X is certified by her flag and class to carry 120 guests at anchor, up to a mile offshore, because a catamaran’s centre of gravity is low and wide. Her captain told Louis on our video that they have already run shows and corporate events aboard. For a charter that means one night in the week when the wider circle comes out by tender for a birthday or an anniversary, with a band on the aft deck, and goes home again. I was aboard for her Sanremo party with a live band and a saxophone on the aft deck at sunset, and the deck took it without feeling full.

Who she is for

  • A celebration week: the twelve aboard all week, and a party night for the wider circle at anchor.
  • Clients who care about the footprint and want the yacht to prove it, not just say it.
  • Design-led clients who are tired of white gloss and want a boat that feels like a house.
  • Corporate and brand events, with the party licence and the chase boat to move people.

There is a hammock slung inside one hull with an opening onto the water, which is where I would spend the afternoon.

What she is for, and what she is not

Quiet and wellness first, then the design, then hosting. Water and toys come with her: a 15-metre chase boat, two jet skis, two Seabobs, two e-foils, a sauna and dive kit. She is not for covering distance. Ten knots cruising and twelve top make her an anchorage boat; she reaches the next bay, not the next country. She is not a classic white motor yacht, and a client who wants one should not be talked into her. And she has no page on our sites yet, so we quote her by request.

Booking SEAWOLF X for Italy: rate, VAT, base and what to ask

The published rate is 280,000 to 295,000 EUR per week plus expenses, with VAT at the rate of the country you cruise in. The APA on her runs around 20% rather than the usual 30 to 35%, because a week of her fuel is a day of most yachts’. For the money you get the only hybrid catamaran of her size in charter, a 13.6-metre master, a 15-metre chase boat included in the rate, and an interior that is new in 2024. Against a 43-metre monohull at the same rate she gives up speed and a conventional profile and gives back width, silence and a lower bill at the end. Her draft is 1.5 metres, so she anchors where the big monohulls cannot. Ask for the bow deck to be opened on the first afternoon, for the cinema night, and whether a party night is in your plans so the captain can clear it with the flag early.

One date to know: 2026 is her Mediterranean season. From 2027 she leaves for the Pacific, so Italy on her means this year’s remaining weeks, and we check them for you.

We booked her in July and our clients came back with a ten out of ten. We have her on our Top 10 superyachts in Italy and on our fuel-efficient superyachts list. The rest of her band is on our Italian superyacht fleet page.

Three more yachts in her class

Three other yachts in her class in Italy I would look at next if SEAWOLF X’s dates are gone.
