10 Superyachts of the 50-Metre Class to Charter in Italy: 146 to 185 ft (45 to 56 m), Ranked by Length (September 2026)

Last updated: September 2026

The 50-metre class runs from 146 to 185 feet (45 to 56 metres). At this size a charter yacht carries a crew of 8 to 13 and usually has a full-beam master suite. On this site, 20 private charter yachts in this band name Italy or Sardinia as a summer cruising area on their listing. We leave out one yacht listed for 16 guests and three small cruise ships for 49, because vessels carrying more than 12 guests sail under different passenger rules.

Below are 10 of the 20, picked to show the range rather than to crown a best boat: ten different yards, two sailing yachts and eight motor yachts, and builds from 1927 to 2025. The countdown runs from #10, the shortest of the ten at 150.92 feet, up to #1, the longest of the ten at 177.17 feet, ranked by the length in feet on each listing; where two share a length, the newer ranks higher. Lengths, guest counts and rates come from each listing as fetched in late September 2026, and rates are weekly charter fees before running expenses. Where a listing dates its seasons they are 2026 rates, except SAIRU and PENELOPE, whose listings give 2027 rates, and several listings give undated rates; we confirm 2027 rates when we quote.

What 146 to 185 Feet Gets You

Guests. Almost every charter yacht is licensed for at most 12 guests, whatever her size, so a 55 metre yacht takes the same group as a 35 metre one, with far more room each. Of the 20 Italy yachts in this class, 12 take 12 guests and 8 take 10.

Cabins and crew. Five or six cabins is the norm, with seven on a few. Where the listing gives a crew count it runs from 8 to 13, most often 9.

Extras. SAIRU has a 5 metre pool in her beach club and an elevator. GHOST III has a dedicated gym.

Who builds them. No yard dominates here. Benetti and Perini Navi have two listings each in the class (see our Benetti and Perini Navi guides), and the rest come from yards as varied as Palmer Johnson, Rossinavi, Riva and Pendennis, plus several custom builds.

Rates. Starting rates for the 19 priced in euros run from €70,000 to €350,000 per week, with half of them at €180,000 per week or less.

What a 50-Metre Charter in Italy Costs

Of the nine with a rate in this article, starting rates run from €160,000 per week (YCM FIFTY) to €350,000 per week (SAIRU); ask us for TRINAKRIA’s. For 12 guests: YCM FIFTY from €160,000, JUBILEE from €180,000, PENELOPE from €190,000, GHOST III from €220,000 and DB9 from €265,000 per week. For 10 guests: JASALI II from €195,000, ASLEC 4 from €216,000, BOMBAY from €230,000 and SAIRU from €350,000 per week.

Those are charter fees only. Fuel, food and marina fees are deducted from an advance provisioning allowance (APA), an additional deposit added to the charter fee, and the remainder is returned after the charter. ASLEC 4 and JASALI II state 30 percent on their listings, and our guide tables use 35 percent for the others as a planning figure. In peak summer that puts JASALI II at €279,500 per week, YCM FIFTY at €243,000 per week and SAIRU at €506,250 per week including APA. VAT depends on the yacht and itinerary. Our guides to APA on an Italy charter, VAT on an Italy charter and what a yacht charter in Italy costs walk through the full bill.

Choosing Within the Class

Start with the base. ASLEC 4 starts from Cala Galera in Tuscany, JASALI II from La Spezia and DB9 from San Remo; GHOST III’s listing names Italy as her only cruising area; PENELOPE’s listing favours the Amalfi Coast and Sicily. Then pick what the group wants on board: a pool (SAIRU), a gym (GHOST III), speed (DB9 cruises at 20 knots) or classic sailing (TRINAKRIA, JASALI II). Our guides to where to start an Italy charter and combining Sicily and the Amalfi Coast help plan the route.

Tell us your dates, where in Italy you want to cruise and how many guests, and we will check which of these ten, or the other yachts in the class, is free that week. For the sizes either side, see our 40-metre class and 60-metre class pages.
