Sanlorenzo Yacht Charter in Italy: Cost, Models and Yachts

By Klara Braga Jakobsen, Yacht Reviewer. Updated October 2026.

A Sanlorenzo yacht charter in Italy costs €85,000 to €150,000 a week in high season for most of the yachts we list, plus expenses and VAT. That is a 2018 to 2024 yacht of 88 to 117 feet for eight to eleven guests, with four to seven crew.

Two start lower: ALEXANDER M at €65,000 and AMAN at €70,000 a week in high season.

Eight Sanlorenzo yachts on our books spend the summer in Italian waters. Each is listed below with her high-season weekly rate:

Italy is home water for this yard. Six of the eight are based on the Italian coast or in Sardinia, so you start your week where the yacht already is.

Who builds Sanlorenzo yachts, and what do SL, SD and SX mean?

Sanlorenzo is an Italian shipyard founded in 1958, with yards today at Ameglia, Viareggio and La Spezia. It builds to order in small numbers, which is why two Sanlorenzos of the same length rarely look alike inside.

The model name tells you what kind of yacht you are getting:

  • SL is the planing flybridge line, the fast one. ALEXANDER M is an SL78 with a 29 knot top speed.
  • SD is the semi-displacement line: slower, with more interior volume and longer range. ADELA is an SD96 and UNIQUE S an SD118.
  • SX is the crossover line. The wheelhouse sits up on the flybridge, the main deck belongs to the guests, and the stern opens into a beach club. LUAR is an SX88 and ON TIME an SX112.

ANYTHING GOES V under way and ON TIME at anchor. Both are 112 feet and take ten guests.

How much does a Sanlorenzo cost to charter in Italy per week?

€85,000 to €150,000 a week in high season for an 88 to 117 foot Sanlorenzo, before expenses and VAT. Outside high season the same yachts list about 10 to 15% lower.

Yacht Length Built Guests Low season High season
ALEXANDER M 80 ft 2023 8 €45,000 €65,000
LUAR 88 ft 2018 8 €75,000 €85,000
ADELA 94 ft 2024 11 €90,000 €100,000
AMAN 95 ft 2016 9 €65,000 €70,000
VITTORIA 105 ft 2020 10 €100,000 €115,000
ANYTHING GOES V 112 ft 2018 10 €115,000 €130,000
ON TIME 112 ft 2024 10 €125,000 €145,000
UNIQUE S 117 ft 2024 10 €130,000 €150,000

The rate is for the yacht and crew only. Add about 30% for the Advance Provisioning Allowance, which pays for fuel, food, drinks and berths, and 22% Italian VAT on the charter fee.

A €100,000 week therefore budgets at about €152,000 before gratuity. Our Italy yacht charter cost guide walks through every line, and the Italian charter VAT page explains what the 22% applies to.

Which Sanlorenzo suits a family or a group of eight?

ALEXANDER M is the entry point: a 2023 SL78 based in Olbia at €45,000 to €65,000 a week, with stabilisers at anchor and under way. We have been aboard her, and one twin cabin converts into an oversized double by filling the gap between the beds, so the same yacht works for a family or for four couples.

LUAR is hull number 00 of the SX range, an SX88 from 2018 refitted in 2025 and based in Porto Venere. Her open stern puts the water a few steps from the sofa, at €75,000 to €85,000 a week.

AMAN takes a ninth guest in four cabins at €65,000 to €70,000 a week. She has an outdoor cinema and spends her summers in northern Sardinia.

Which Sanlorenzo takes ten or eleven guests?

ADELA is the only one that takes eleven, in five cabins. She is a 2024 SD96 based at Marina di Stabia on the Bay of Naples, a short run from Capri and the Amalfi Coast, at €90,000 to €100,000 a week.

ANYTHING GOES V is built around her sun deck, with a jacuzzi, sunbeds and an outside bar. She takes ten guests with six crew from La Spezia at €115,000 to €130,000 a week.

Which are the newest and largest Sanlorenzo yachts in Italy?

ON TIME is a 2024 SX112 whose beach club opens to about 102 square metres at sea level once the terraces fold out. She carries an e-foil, a jet ski and two Seabobs for ten guests and six crew, at €125,000 to €145,000 a week.

UNIQUE S is the largest, a 2024 SD118 of 117 feet with the master cabin on the main deck and seven crew for ten guests. She comes over from Antibes and lists at €130,000 to €150,000 a week.

Where does a Sanlorenzo charter in Italy start?

Start where the yacht lives and you pay no delivery fuel. The eight sit in three regions:

  • Liguria: LUAR, VITTORIA and ANYTHING GOES V are based at Porto Venere and La Spezia, beside the Cinque Terre and a morning’s cruise from Portofino.
  • Sardinia: ALEXANDER M is based in Olbia and AMAN summers in the north of the island, both next to the Costa Smeralda and the La Maddalena archipelago.
  • Bay of Naples: ADELA is based at Marina di Stabia, for Capri, the Amalfi Coast and the Pontine Islands.

ON TIME and UNIQUE S are based outside Italy, so a delivery fee from Palma or Antibes may apply. Our guides to where to start an Italy yacht charter and Sardinia versus the Amalfi Coast help you pick the region first.

Capri and Faraglioni rocks off Amalfi Coast, Italy La Maddalena Archipelago, Sardinia Cinque Terra, Italy
The three regions these yachts start from: Capri and the Faraglioni, the La Maddalena archipelago in Sardinia, and the Cinque Terre in Liguria.

What is included in a Sanlorenzo charter rate, and what is extra?

Every yacht on this page charters on plus-expenses terms:

  • Included: the yacht, her crew, insurance and the water toys she carries.
  • APA, about 30%: fuel, food, drinks and marina berths, paid up front and accounted for by the captain. Whatever you do not spend comes back to you.
  • VAT, 22%: charged on the charter fee for a week that starts in Italy. It is not charged on the APA.
  • Gratuity: at your discretion. In the Mediterranean it usually falls between 5 and 15% of the charter fee.

Fuel is the line that moves most on a motor yacht. Our page on how the APA works in Italy shows how to keep it under control, and the one on marina versus anchor nights covers berth costs in Capri and Porto Cervo.

When should you book a Sanlorenzo for Italy?

For July and August, book six to nine months ahead. Each of these yachts is a one-off, so when the week you want is taken there is no sister ship to move to.

June and September are easier to find and list lower on every yacht here. Our guide to the best time for an Italy yacht charter compares the months region by region.

Is a Sanlorenzo the right yacht, or should you look at another Italian yard?

Choose a Sanlorenzo for a quiet, custom interior and a yacht of 80 to 120 feet that feels like nobody else’s. The SX and SD models suit guests who would rather spend the day at the stern, by the water, than run at speed.

If you want a larger yacht with seven or more crew, see our Benetti yacht charter guide. If you want speed and a sportier look, see our Riva yacht charter guide.

People also ask

How much does it cost to charter a Sanlorenzo yacht in Italy?

€85,000 to €150,000 a week in high season for most of the eight we list, plus about 30% APA and 22% VAT. Two smaller yachts start at €65,000 and €70,000.

How many guests can a Sanlorenzo charter yacht take?

Eight to eleven on the yachts we list for Italy. ADELA takes eleven in five cabins, and the 105 to 117 foot yachts take ten.

Where are Sanlorenzo yachts built?

In Italy. The shipyard was founded in 1958 and builds today at Ameglia, Viareggio and La Spezia.

What is the difference between Sanlorenzo SL, SD and SX?

SL yachts are fast planing flybridge yachts. SD yachts are slower semi-displacement yachts with more volume, and SX yachts are crossovers with the helm on the flybridge and an open beach club at the stern.

Is VAT included in a Sanlorenzo charter rate in Italy?

No. Italian VAT of 22% is added to the charter fee for a week that starts in Italy, and it is shown as its own line on the quote.

Can a Sanlorenzo based in Italy cruise to Corsica or the French Riviera?

Yes. Most of the eight list the French Riviera, Corsica and Sardinia as cruising areas alongside Italy, so a week from Sardinia can cross to Bonifacio.
