Riva Yacht Charter in Italy: Cost, Models and Yachts

By Klara Braga Jakobsen, Yacht Reviewer. Updated October 2026.

A Riva yacht charter in Italy costs €120,000 to €165,000 a week in high season for a Riva of 98 to 109 feet, plus expenses and VAT. That is a 2019 to 2025 sport yacht for ten or eleven guests, with five or six crew.

The two smaller Rivas list at €53,000 and €70,000 a week, and the 177 foot SAIRU at €375,000.

Six Riva yachts on our books cruise Italy and Sardinia in summer. Each is listed below with her high-season weekly rate:

  • SAMIRA: 76 ft, 8 guests, €53,000
  • L’AS BLEU: 82 ft, 8 guests, €70,000
  • HP6: 98 ft, 10 guests, €120,000
  • ELYSIUM I: 109 ft, 11 guests, €150,000
  • BELLA DONNA: 109 ft, 10 guests, €165,000
  • SAIRU: 177 ft, 10 guests, €375,000

Five of the six were built between 2021 and 2025. This is the newest fleet of any Italian yard we charter.

Who builds Riva yachts, and what makes one different?

Riva was founded in 1842 at Sarnico on Lake Iseo and is now part of the Ferretti Group. The yard made its name with mahogany runabouts and today builds sport yachts at Sarnico and La Spezia and superyachts at Ancona.

A Riva is the low, fast yacht you notice in the anchorage. The five under 110 feet cruise at 18 to 25 knots, so Portofino to Corsica is a few hours, not a day.

How much does a Riva cost to charter in Italy per week?

€120,000 to €165,000 a week in high season for a Riva of 98 to 109 feet, before expenses and VAT. Outside high season the same yachts list up to a quarter lower.

Yacht Length Built Guests Crew Low season High season
SAMIRA 76 ft 2024 8 2 €46,000 €53,000
L’AS BLEU 82 ft 2025 8 3 €53,000 €70,000
HP6 98 ft 2021 10 5 €107,000 €120,000
ELYSIUM I 109 ft 2019 11 5 €118,500 €150,000
BELLA DONNA 109 ft 2025 10 6 €128,000 €165,000
SAIRU 177 ft 2025 10 12 €350,000 €375,000

The rate is for the yacht and crew only. Add about 30% for the Advance Provisioning Allowance, and budget the top of that range on a Riva, because fuel at 20 knots is the largest line.

VAT follows the port where the week starts: 22% in Italy and 20% in France, where five of these yachts are based. A €150,000 week from Antibes therefore budgets at about €225,000 before gratuity.

Which Riva suits eight guests who want speed?

SAMIRA is a 2024 Riva 76 Perseo Super based in Cannes, at €46,000 to €53,000 a week. She tops 30 knots, takes eight guests in four cabins and has stabilisers at anchor and under way.

L’AS BLEU is a 2025 Riva 82 Diva based in Monaco, at €53,000 to €70,000 a week. Two terraces fold down at her stern to widen the beach club, and her flybridge is 40 square metres.

Both run with two or three crew, so service is lighter than on the larger Rivas. They suit a family or two couples who want to cover distance and eat ashore some evenings.

Which Riva takes ten or eleven guests?

HP6 is a 98 foot Riva from 2021 based in Antibes, at €107,000 to €120,000 a week. She cruises at 20 knots with five crew and carries two Seabobs and two electric JetSurf boards.

BELLA DONNA is a 2025 build of 109 feet, also from Antibes, at €128,000 to €165,000 a week. Her flybridge has a full bar and a dining table, and she carries e-foils, with six crew for ten guests.

ELYSIUM I is the one that takes eleven, in five cabins, at €118,500 to €150,000 a week. She is a 2019 Riva of 109 feet with a jacuzzi aft, a jet ski and stabilisers at anchor.

What is the largest Riva you can charter?

SAIRU, a 177 foot Riva delivered in 2025, at €350,000 to €375,000 a week. Her beach club is built around a five metre pool, the bulwarks fold out into terraces over the water, and a lift connects her decks.

She takes ten guests in five cabins with twelve crew. That is more crew than guests, on the only Riva superyacht we list.

Where does a Riva charter to Italy start?

None of these yachts is based in Italy, and that is normal for Riva. They start from the French Riviera and cruise into Italian waters:

  • Cannes, Antibes and Monaco: SAMIRA, L’AS BLEU, HP6 and BELLA DONNA are based on the French Riviera, a few hours at Riva speed from Portofino and the Ligurian coast.
  • Riviera or Balearics: ELYSIUM I is flexible between the South of France and the Balearics, so ask us where she is for your week.
  • Corsica and Sardinia: all six list both islands, and the usual route runs down the west coast of Corsica to Bonifacio and across to the Costa Smeralda.

Starting in France can also change the tax. Our page on the ECPY VAT advantage for Sardinia charters from France explains how, and where to start an Italy yacht charter compares the Italian ports if you would rather board there.

What is included in a Riva charter rate, and what is extra?

All six charter on plus-expenses terms:

  • Included: the yacht, her crew, insurance and the water toys she carries.
  • APA, about 30%: fuel, food, drinks and marina berths, paid up front and accounted for by the captain. Whatever you do not spend comes back to you.
  • VAT: 22% on the charter fee for a week that starts in Italy, 20% for one that starts in France. It is not charged on the APA.
  • Gratuity: at your discretion. In the Mediterranean it usually falls between 5 and 15% of the charter fee.

Our Italy yacht charter cost guide walks through every line. The page on how the APA works in Italy shows how cruising speed and distance move the fuel bill.

When should you book a Riva for Italy?

For July and August, book six to nine months ahead. The 2024 and 2025 builds are the first to go, and there is one of each.

June and September list lower on every yacht here. Our guide to the best time for an Italy yacht charter compares the months region by region.

Is a Riva the right yacht, or should you look at another Italian yard?

Choose a Riva for speed, looks and a new yacht. If you would rather have more interior volume and a quieter pace at a similar length, our Sanlorenzo yacht charter guide covers eight yachts based in Italy itself.

If you want a displacement superyacht with seven to eleven crew, see our Benetti yacht charter guide. Every motor yacht we list for Italy is on our Italy motor yacht charter page.
